Just got back from seeing About A Boy. I’d read and loved the book when it first came out, and although I was worried the filmmakers were marketing it as a “chick flick,” I really enjoyed it. The soundtrack, by Badly Drawn Boy, is also really good. I can’t get the song “Something to Talk About” out of my head.

This is cool: they’re auctioning off some of the props from the other must-see film of the season, Wes Anderson’s Royal Tenenbaums. These would make nice Christmas presents!
Leave it to the Globe and Mail (”Canada’s National Newspaper”) to print a cranky review of Fellowship of the Ring. Reviews elsewhere have been almost universally great. I probably won’t get to see it until at least the weekend, but if you’ve seen it, what are your thoughts?
Apple has published a feature on the Richard Linklater film Waking Life, which was animated using a lot of Mac computers. Go and read my review of the film, and then get thee to a cinema!
