Alerted by a tweet from Joseph Gordon-Levitt, I was happy to discover that the upcoming Wholphin Issue 9 will feature his directorial debut, Sparks (review), which I thoroughly enjoyed at this year’s Worldwide Short Film Fest. Two other films I saw at the fest are also featured: the animated Skhizein and the coming-of-age tale Jerrycan (review of both). I’m very much looking forward to revisiting these three, as well as enjoying some of the other great films included.
There really is no better showcase for short film right now, in my opinion. Grab this issue when it comes out, or better yet, subscribe.
